Institute Launches Virtual Speakers’ Bureau for Universities Across the Globe
The USC Schwarzenegger Institute recognizes the need for expertise during our current moment. Professors and students at USC and beyond have quickly transitioned to online instruction to complete their semesters. However, this has created new challenges and opportunities for teachers creating new online instructional content.
We have created the USC Schwarzenegger Institute Virtual Speakers’ Bureau for university professors looking for expert guest lecturers in the Institute’s key mission areas of political reforms, environmental policy, and after-school education. Through the Schwarzenegger Institute’s efforts, policy practitioners, USC professors, researchers, and thought leaders in these key areas have been recruited to guest lecture virtually in classes across the United States and the globe.
The first guest lecture in this virtual speakers’ bureau was conducted by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger last week in a class on policy and climate change. Governor Schwarzenegger talked about the importance of California’s efforts to pass the Global Warming Solutions Act during his time as governor and how the state served as a model for other states and countries. He also told students about ways they can work to fight pollution and attempts to roll back efforts made in California and beyond. We are currently working with universities to schedule Governor Schwarzenegger, practitioners, and academics to virtually speak at universities in Europe and Asia.
The Institute has recruited and coordinated guest lectures by other experts who are slated to speak at universities virtually around the world in the coming weeks. If you are interested in scheduling one of our practitioner or academic experts in your class or virtual webinar; or are interested in sharing your unique expertise in the areas of political reform; environmental policy; or after-school education, please email Allison Kay at firstname.lastname@example.org or Christian Grose at email@example.com to inquire.
